The Path Ahead

Recently we took a trip up to the snow line with some friends. Getting up to the pass and to the base of the dormant volcano only took an 90 minutes. The hike up took longer(3 hours) mainly because... we got sidetracked and missed the main trail. Aren't we supposed to take the path least traveled? While we did get a little off the path we had great company and an awesome view. The peak behind is Popocatépetl an active volcano and, at 5,426 m (17,802 ft), the second highest peak in Mexico. Popocatépetl is linked to the Iztaccihuatl volcano to the north by a high saddle known as the Paso de Cortés. The pass is only 25 miles from Puebla.

In February we celebrated two years living here in Puebla. The first two years of here we focused mainly on learning the language, culture, making friends and just trying to figure out how to live life here and starting our martial arts ministry. I can't say that we are fluent in Spanish and we know everything there is to know about Mexico and how to live here. I can say with confidence that we can communicate well enough that we don't get as many funny looks as when we first arrived. I say I feel like a two year old because I can understand and follow most conversations and give some input to keep it going just like a two year old.

So what lies on the path ahead for the Prusia family? Watching God grow the martial arts ministry. A trip to the US for 45 days this summer. Two teams coming to work with us here in Puebla (from the US). But most importantly trying to stay focused on God and following the path he has laid before us.

Proverbs 16:9 (NIV) "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps."

Oh, we hope to keep this blog updated so you can follow our journey.
